Gorge-ous.

Saturday we were able to go on a little adventure to a place called "Gorge de Diosso."  Not sure if it's official or unofficial, but it's been called the "Grand Canyon of the Congo" (for those of you from Columbus, think "Providence Canyon").  It was beautiful...some may even call it gorge-ous (humor me...).
1 Chronicles 29:11 Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, Lord, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all.
Psalm 24:1 The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.
Jeremiah 32:17 "Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you."

It's always a privilege to be out in God's creation...to be in the midst of such beauty and grandness is sacred.

I (dianna) must admit, I was a bit nervous (or maybe frustrated would be a more honest word) when Emma started fussing about not wanting to hike about 5 minutes after we started.  I thought "there goes our lovely day."  But Nick patiently parented her and she managed to have a pretty decent time.

We hiked along a road (some folks use hiking sticks, the Cash kids brought shovels)...stopped for a picnic lunch...hiked a little more and then headed back to where we started.  We had cokes and snacks at the restaurant where we parked, found some trees to climb in and chairs to sit in (and also found a rather steep trail that leads down into the gorge - we're going to try it next time!!) and then we headed back to the ship.

Definitely a delightful way to spend a Saturday in Congo.

Surely there will be more to come.
